Catherine: At a district conference in Zagreb. On her 21st Birthday, she was able to spend part of her birthday with her dear friend, and MTC companion, Sestra Tiara Kropushek. Simple pleasures sure make for a great day. HERE IS HER POST: June 1st: It was one of the best birthdays of my life. Hahaha. It was literally a party all day. We had district conference yesterday!! Which means that every member and every missionary from Croatia ALL gathered together to have a sweet conference, and Elder Donaldson was the visiting authority there. It was so spiritually uplifting, and probably the greatest birthday present was the talk that Elder Donaldson gave... it was perfect for me. It uplifted me so much and I received revelation from it. And it gave such wonderful insight that we can use for our investigators. Basically, just all about prayer, and how Joseph Smith is the perfect example for prayer and receiving answers to our questions. He said "Think for a moment about what it took to actually get Joseph Smith to the foot of the Hill Cumorah. Think of what trials and tribulations he and his family went through. Think of his ancestors and their trials. Think of the continual failures they had. Think of the personal trials he was going through. Then, think in your own life, what it has taken to get you to where you are right now. Think of your ancestors. Think of the trials you are going through. And remember the tender merices of the Lord that have been upon you and upon your family, and like the promise in Moroni 10, as you receive these things, and ponder them, and allow your heart to be softened... go to the Lord. Go to him with your questions and concerns. And He will answer your prayers." Oh man it was so good. And BESIDES THAT. My companion, Sister Peterson is basically the biggest partier in the world, and she just loves to celebrate things. So we spent the night at the mission nurses aparment the night before, and when I woke up in the morning, they had this huge pancake breakfast for me, and Sister Peterson went all around the night before posting sticky notes everywhere that said really funny stuff like, "One Direction says Happy Birthday" and "BAKA!" (which means grandma) And that was way fun. And the rest of the day she was bouncing around to everyone telling them it was my birthday, so literally everyone wished me a happy birthday. They even sang to me!! And SISTER KROPUSHEK WAS THERE. Which is a big deal because I have not seen here since we left the MTC, because even though she is in Croatia, she is so far north that she is in the Serbian zone. Crazy, right? So THAT was amazing. And I got to see Elder Lamb too, because he just got transfered to Zadar!! So he was there :) And there was this HUGE luncheon and Elder Graham and I were convinced that the whole thing wasnt even for district conference, it was just for me and my birthday :) And people wrote me cards, and Sister Kropushek gave me this SWEET watch... I mean. It was a party. Even getting back to Rijeka later on in the day, we just went straight to the Maedas house and they threw me a dinner party. It was all the missionaries, and they made this delicious pasta stuff, and (naturally, because they are Hawaiian) they made pineapple upside down cake, and we did the candles and everything :) Sister Maeda was like, "I know this wont beat being at home, but we just wanted to do a little something for you!" They are so nice. And I was like, okay, but seriously, this might be one of the more decent birthdays I have ever had. The Elders/Sister Peterson/Roberto gave me a birthday gift :) My favorite chocolate bar (shoko and keks by Milka. ommmmmg) and a Croation book of fairytales!!! It was so awesome. AND THEN President Maeda offered us a ride home, which meant we didnt have to sit on the stinky bus. It was such a good birthday. People were so nice, and the conversation/fun we had at district conference, and later on at dinner... it was so so lovely. I love this district, and the new arrival, Elder Graham. He seriously brings so much joy and peace to our district. With Elder Graham here, its like a breath of fresh air. Elder Radovanovič is so happy, and all the branch members love Elder Graham, and it just brings a happier spirit to the work. We all get along really well, and we were just having such a good time last night laughing and telling stories. . It was a really really great birthday. Thats basically the best news of the week. The work was slow. We tried going to visit a referral, and she basically just told us we werent Christlike because we wouldnt give her money for cigarrettes. That was interesting.. and very uncomfortable. Everyone here believes in the concept of Christ, I think? And due to their heritage, if you say you are a Croation, that also means that you are a Catholic. So they all say they believe in Christ, but they dont actually know what the purpose of believing in Christ is. Its not just a thing to say you believe in. Its something that it is actually supposed to bring peace and joy to your life. There is a purpose in Christ. And you can actually use him your daily life. And no one here really grasps that. And basically every day, we have a new crazy story. Maybe when I get home I will try to remember them all. But I mean... theres just to many to list in an email. Its crazy here in Rijeka. And the world cup is coming up, which is going to be HUGE. We also have a huge activity this weekend planned, where we are going to restart English class and set up a booth in Centar to tell people all about it, and a huge Sunday meeting planned as well. Cant wait to send you pictures of it all!! Its way exciting, and going to be a very busy week for us!! Anyway. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It was a very, very happy birthday to me.
Sestra Catherine Chauncey View contact Content from Learn more|Turn off Sretan Uskrs, obitelj!! :) Well, this week has been different, for sure! And this upcoming week will be even weirder, in the missionary work standpoint. We are moving this week, so we arent going to have a lot of time to visit or go tracting or NIŠTA. But it will be good to finally get into our new apartment. It is so cute :) And so much closer to centar. I cant wait to send you pictures!! Last pday was AMAZING. I went to H&M and found the most perfect missionary skirt that has ever existed, and I think i wore it every day this week. Then the Zagreb sisters met up with us and we went and walked down the pier (which is definitely not as cool as it sounds) and then we went to TRSAT. DO YOU KNOW WHAT TRSAT IS? ITS A CASTLE. LIKE. IT LOOKS LIKE THE CASTLE FROM BRAVE. its this little teeny thing, but i just felt like a princess. we could see it down from the pier, and before we finished walking down the pier, we were like... why are we on the pier. we need to go to the castle. SO WE DID. AND IT WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. Then, we made our way to Zagreb!! And I met the woman who is TRANSLATING THE BOOK OF MORMON :) isnt that SO cool?!! the translation we have right now is not very good, so she is paid by the church to retranslate the whole thing. i just felt famous being in her presence for some reason. and she was super nice. so that was awesome. The next day in zagreb was kind of weird. we didnt really teach anyone, except the landlord who came to the aparmtent to fix the plumbing. but we gave him a book of mormon!! that was great. we did stop to eat at this restaraunt called... (drumroll) "California Burrito". I cant even tell you how excited I was... and then we ate it. And it was soooooo lame. hahah. I think Ive made better burritos at college. When I didnt even know how to make food. But hey. It was edible. And Sister Orgill sensed my disappointment, so we went and got TWO desserts. Hahaha. Fritoule covered in nutella (oh man) and then we went to a place called Cookie Factory. It was pretty good, but we asked for cookies and cream ice cream, and they gave us like.. banana or something. Idk. Haha. Funny story. We were in the mission office when Elder Hobbs gets a call from some sisters. He gets of the phone and says "Well, apparently the Rijeka sisters have been kicked out of their apartment." ...WHAT?! Yep. Our landlord called and told us he changed the locks because we havent paid. Okay so we didnt pay yet, and he totall , but he wanted to scare us. So we figured everything out (well, they figured everything out, i was in zagreb) and then i got back and everything is fine... lets just say, the sooner we move out of there, the better. President Rowe came to our branch activity on Friday. That was a party. Its funny, ive always known the egg dying tradition of easter to be a tradition, but here its like a way big deal. so it was fun, we had a wonderful spiritual meeting, and then we dyed eggs :) and, surprise, what else do you do with eggs besides EAT THEM. so like, everyone hands them out here and then actually eats them as a treat. they also play this game where you fight your hard boiled eggs to see which is stronger. like, you smash them against each other, and then whoevers breaks first loses. so i played that. that was great. and then, on sunday, people gave us more eggs. haha. i love it here. did you know you could dye eggs with red onions? because you can. we got some of those too. Also, Ivan, from our branch presidency, is MY new best friend for facebook. He is constantly showing me updates and stuff from your facebook. so i dont have to worry about not knowing when candace goes into delivery, because youll probably post something, and he will show me. haha. its great. Easter was good! I gave the talk in Sacrament Meeting, as Ivan obviously shared. I translated it into Croation, but he was nice and proofread, and then fixed my mistakes. It was kind of lame, but I just sat there and read it word for word and didnt even look up until the end. Hahaha. I cant even imagine how scary that was for you, Dad... I can absolutely relate to that, but cant even imagine how much scarier it was, not having any time to prepare. I just wish I were blessed with the same gift of tounges. Haha. There were so many people at church!! It was awesome. Antonijas whole family came!!! It feels like church when there are families there. We had a big lunch, and then went and delivered cookies to members and investigators, and then we had a big easter dinner at the senior couple's house :) :) it was awesome. we just talked and ate ham and it felt like Easter. I loved it. Its been a pretty good week. I got this letter from Wishes (a friend from C1 YSA ward, Aulelio Meyers) last week that was amazing... it was perfect for me. Could you tell him that?? Please? I dont have his email and I dont have time to write letters. tell him it meant so much to me and that im so happy for him and his engagement. Also I have more things I reallly want you to send me for my birthday :) :) 1. funfetti cake mix with funfetti frosting (PLEASE) 2. mormon tabernacle choir showtunes CD 3. bisquick with maple syrup LOVE YOU. to je to za sad.
Judy Chauncey Connect Connect Content from Learn more|Turn off Okay: So I just LOVE everything. We have the best members and investigators ever. Seriously. Ill get to the rest of the week in a second, but yesterday was so good. We had a pretty full church (like, 10, not including the missionaries), and we had a good testimony meeting. BUT we then watched the SUNDAY AFTERNOON OF CONFERENCE :D Which was such a treat. Oh man CONFERENCE WAS SO GOOD. Anyway. And after that, our investigator Antonija asked Ivan to give her a blessing, and he did... and man I could ALMOST understand everything!! It was so beautiful... she is just seriously the best, her and her entire family. She has FOUR SONS, so talk about future missionaries. We also went with her on Saturday to visit the grave of her daughter, who died at a month old. It was a really special experience. She is just.. going to love the temple so much. I just cant wait for this mother and daughter, who love each other SO MUCH, to be sealed together for eternity. It just gives me chills. Anway, in this blessing, there were just so many crazy promises given to her... basically, she is totally crucial in the moving forward of this work in Croatia. At the bus stop on the way home from the grave, Sister Peterson was talking to someone and asked Antonija if it would be weird if she gave this person a mormon.org card (some members feel weird about it), and she just shook her head and said, "Why would that be weird? Everyone needs this." And that just... really struck me. I need to stop being so afraid to talk to people, and remember that everyone does need this. Sometimes (okay lots of the time) they might reject it... but thats between them and God, not them and me. I am just... learning day by day what it means to forget yourself. I just hope I can do more. Anyway, then last night Ivan made all us missionaries this big dinner, and we just spent time together talking and laughing and eating. They really do feel like family. It was just so nice to spend time with people who like you and who have the same beliefs as you and who love the Gospel as much as you. Its really refreshing. Pula was way fun. We went to the colossiuem and spent basically the whole day in Pula. We took an audio tour of the whole place, and that was so fascinating. Apparently, there were four Roman collosieums in Croatia, and this is the only one still standing. We just learned so much about the history here. I didn't even know that much about collosieums and stuff in the first place, but this arena was used for battles betwen wild beasts, prisoners of war, criminals, and early Christians. I mean... Christians!! What significance it was that followers of Christ could return thousands of years later, and step onto the same ground to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, without the same persecution. It was really special. But it was so fascinating to hear about the popularity of these fights. Like... it straight up was the Hunger Games. (I know I'm sorry I'm so lame but that was the closest comparison I could make) They would train these people for years just to battle, and they would dress them, and the animals, in crazy theatrics and everything, and they would dress them in the war clothing of their homeland, and make them fight with their homeland traditional wepaons... It was just so fascinating. And the winners of these battles would earn more than the actual leaders of the armies. And I mean... this building is like, 2000 years old. The city of Pula itself is 3000 years old. It was just like stepping back in time itself. It was so cool. And everywhere we went, all of the houses were all different colors. Every other road looked like a rainbow. We even found a little Mexican restaurant!! It wasn't nearly as good as anything in California, or La Juanitas in Sioux City, but it was tasty. Haha. And satisfied the craving I've had for Mexican food... so that was good. Also, remember when I was in the airport calling you guys and I was excited because there was a McDonalds in the airport and it would be the last McDonalds Big Mac I would have for 18 months? ... Why did I ever think that McDonalds WOULD NOT be in Europe?? Because it is. And its like, 10x better than the ones in America. Hahaha. Its still McDonalds... but all the food is actually fresh. And they sell this apple pita with ice cream on the side, with carmel all over it... what the heck. Its actually delicious. Also, you know how they tell you that all the models in magazines and billboards are photoshopped? Thats a lie. They all live in Rijeka. I feel like such a squat little stump next to all these long, tall, beautiful women. Especially cause they are all trendy, and Im just in my missionary attire... Hahaha. Everyone here is seriously so well dressed. I try and be as trendy and cute as I can, but... you can only do so much within the missionary boundaries. Oh. But everyone wears tights here, like, all the time. If even a part of your leg is showing, they expect you to have it covered with tights. So that is one thing I have adopted. I wear tights everywhere, because they ask you about it it you don't. Anyway... I cant think of much else that has gone on. Oh, we did talk with Deleise the other night, the American Messianic Jew. She is seriously so cool, and I can't remember if Ive talked about her before, but she has all of this crazy insight into the Bible. So we had a big discussion the other night, and I pulled out John 10 and 3 Nephi and compared the two verses that say "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold". We read the one in the Bible first, and then the one in 3 Nephi. And she read it... and then paused... and said, "Wait... where did this book come from?!?!" Because she was just so excited about it. I think it really hit her then that this book is worthwhile. Its so fun to talk about the Gospel. And we have lots of English-speaking investigators, so... I feel like I can contribute sometimes :) I've been assigned to give a talk on Easter in church. Im not totally sure how well it will go. I'm actually super nervous about it. But!! Ill do my best :) Im going on exchanges this week! I leave tonight and come back on Wednesday. Going to Zagreb. Nothing new for me. It will be great though, and Im excited. Love you all. Cant wait to hear when Candace finally has this baby. Miss you!
Judy Chauncey Connect Connect Content from Learn more|Turn off MY SECOND WEEK IN THE COUNTRY: This week was much more positive in the "Terrified of Croatia" department. :) (Also, I just like to add that I'm sitting at a computer with a large TV blasting very loud croatian, music. pretty proud of myself, because I can understand a lot. but also pretty mad, because its really distracting. hahaha) Wow I have to recap from last pday first. Okay. haha. So YEP. There were some complications over here with our apartment and paperwork and stuff, so we had to make a bit of a detour to Slovenia for a bit. All we did was drive across the border, go to a really cool little town, eat at a bakery, visit a church (a beautiful church), and then drive back. THEN we visited Opatija for a quick second :) Oh man. So beautiful. We went to this amazing Catholic cathedral, and walked around. But yes. I DROVE. Um. The roads here are so different from American roads... what the heck. First of all, there are no yellow lines. They're all white. So trying to decipher which side of the road was which, proved difficult. I ended up on the wrong side of the road a couple of times. But hey, we survived. Also, the stoplights are so funny... When theyre going from red to green, they remain red, and then they go yellow, and then they go green. Its like a countdown for a racetrack. And everyone treats it like that. Haha they all PUNCH the gas as soon as it ends yellow and turns green. But Im a missionary... so I drove safely. I couldn't help think I was in real life" Mario Kart" though. Couple more temporal things: First thing is strictly about food. I've discovered that Croatia has some of the best restaurants of my whole life. Oh. My Goodness. They have this place called Spahgo... and it is the new light of my life. Its this pasta-y italian kind of a restaurant... and its to die for. The vegetables WERE AMAZING. And there are bakeries on EVERY street. And they have these croissants filled with chocolate... and WHY HAS CHOCOLATE NEVER TASTED LIKE THIS BEFORE??? I can tell that I'm not going to lose any weight out here. Such delicious food. Also, everyone loves to make palečinka... ( I think thats how you spell it) but they are really just crepes. But they eat it with everything. A member from our church made us dinner last night, a delicious soup thing, and there on the table, next to the soup, was the palečinka, without fail. Pancakes and soup. All right! So! We had a crazy busy week, mostly because we went to the MUP (police station) ALMOST EVERY DAY. Ugh, its like the dmv... just takes 300 years, and every time we went to go get our paperwork finished, they told us we forgot a paper... and I was like, why couldnt you have told us all these things the first time!!! So, that put a dent in our missionary work. BUT we still had an awesome week. The people here are so amazing. Ive met a bunch of members/investigators now (I think almost all of them) and every time I speak to them, (which I don't really say much, I mostly just try and focus on whatever it is they're trying to say.) they just bring this absolutely wonderful spirit... I have never felt so much love for people before. They all have incredible life stories, and such awesome conversion stories. There is one girl, who is inactive, and we went to go visit her last night. Her name is Marina, and were not totally sure what her entire life story is, but she was baptized about 10 or 12 years ago, and shes had a bit of a rough life, and now lives with her grandpa and her uncle, who are the sweetest old men ive ever met. One of them had a cancer growth, and the missionaries went over to his house and gave him a blessing, and the cancer was gone. So cool... Anyway, we were talking to her last night, and we were talking about eternal families, and how God has a plan for us, and how sometimes it might be hard, but that there is always a way to endure. She just started crying and, Im not totally sure what she said, but it was obvious that she was in distress. Her grandmother recently passed away, and she was obviously very close to her. As she was crying, I felt this intense prompting to tell her something (which is big, because i dont think ive said any more than 10 words to her), and I just said, "God loves you. And he wants you to be happy." And perhaps it didn't strengthen her as much as it strengthened me... but I was watching this woman, a daughter of God, crying out in distress, and I think I felt just a hint of what our Father in Heaven feels for us. He wants us to be happy. More than anything else, he wants our happiness. Thats why he has given us this Gospel, and the Plan of Happiness. He hates to see us suffer. He hates to see us sad, depressed, or discouraged. He is our Father. He wants joy for us all. And he can't always take us out of the situation were in, but he can always help us get through it. Thats why we have the scriptures, the prophets, our families... Its why we have laughter, and music, and friends. Its why we have our Savior. We can have happiness in this life, and joy in this life. And we are so blessed as a church, because we know exactly how. By the end of the night, she realized it. She committed to reading her scriptures every day, and I think its really going to rekindle the testimony she once had. Oh my goodness, I love her. I hope she does. So! We have 4 people who have a baptismal date, and then a couple who is getting married before that baptismal date :) They are seriously the cutest family. Antonija, and her husband Dragan. They have been so prepared... They tell you there are people out here who have been prepared, but you don't actually know what that means until you get here. Everyone here is a convert - they are all first generation members of the church. So they all have these incredible back stories that lead them RIGHT here. Antonija is the perfect golden investigator. Every time we meet for a lesson, shes like Oh! I read about that in the pamphlet, and I highlighted it in the Book of Mormon, and then I read the Sunday School manual about it. Sestra Peterson and I just look at each other like... why are we even here? She doesn't even need us. Haha. But she has a really sick little baby who had a twin baby sister who died, so this little boy has to be in the hospital a lot. Were trying to get them married and baptized by the 26th of April, but well see. We also had a district meeting with President Rowe on Friday. He was concerned about me, and even called me the other night just to make sure I was doing okay. He is the best... he cares so much about us. And we can all feel it. He had an interview with me and and gave me a Priesthood blessing, and it helped so much. Essentially, the most important think Ive been learning this past week is that this mission is not about me... and Ive been really concerned about my family, and my friends, and my homesickness, and my jet lag, and my efforts... And President Rowe said, "Perhaps you need to relax, refrain from thinking about yourself, and think of all the ways you can serve others." And Ive been really trying to do that lately, and its helped so much... Ive felt much more at peace with everything, even if I can't understand anything. Im going to be pretty sad when President Rowe gets released... He is great. (He is leaving the end of June, and the new mission President arrives on July 1st) Also, I came up with this little language plan? (okay I didn't come up with it, but i finally decided to implement it) and during church yesterday, I had my little notebook out and was just writing down all of the words that I DIDNT know, so that I could look them up later. And the more I concentrated to the talks, the more I realized I actually understood! And then I got this crazy headache, because I was concentrating so hard, and actually understanding what they were saying, but only after I heard the word, recognized it, translated it, and then put it in place with the other words in the sentence. And then I missed the next 3 sentences trying to write down that ONE word I didnt know. BUT! its great :) I felt so much better about that. Anyway! Today were going to the beach! This Carlsbad girl needs her beach :) Love Sestra Catherine Chauncey I'M HERE! This first photo is looking out my apartment window to the city of Rijeka, Croatia. The Adriatic Sea is in the background. After a week of being in the country, I think I've finally recovered from the jet lag... it was soooo harsh. I was just tired all day. And remember how I always get grumpy from being tired? Just imagine me, tired for 5 days. Yeah. That was rough. For all. My trainer is Sister Peterson. She is a hoot. She is from Texas and is lots of fun. When we were on the bus from Zagreb to Rijeka, she said, "Oh its just a party in Rijeka. Youre just gonna love it. " She's pretty right. (NOTE, The night that Catherine flew to Croatia, I (Judy Chauncey) was awake late, and I "googled" some blogs I found from the sister missionaries in the Adriatic North. I found myself really liking the stories and the feeling of the writing from this Sister Brianne Peterson, and I hoped she would be Catherine's companion - And since music is a big part of their lives, I'm glad to report they have already sung together!) Mom, Its funny you said you hoped she'd be my companion, because she had a feeling she would be my companion, and I had a feeling I would come to Rijeka. So obviously, we were all feeling this. Haha...Something is going right. I dont know why I was under this impression... but for some reason, I assumed that everyone here spoke English? Like, my MTC teachers said, "Oh don't worry, almost everyone speaks English." So it wouldn't be a big deal, everything would be okay, I could be okay and speak to people... BUT YEAH THATS NOT TRUE AT ALL. Maybe if they realized I was Amercian, they would try and speak English, but they just don't. And I'm in Croatia. So everyone here SPEAKS CROATION. #iznenadenje. It is the weirdest bit of culture shock to be here and realize that no one speaks your native tongue. Even weirder to realize that YOU cant speak YOUR native tongue and be understood. I can understand everything my companion says... But I cant understand much of what everyone else says. This lady in the internet cafe this morning started bossing me around with something, and I just stared at her. It was awkward. It is fun, but a little scary. So I've had this crazy life for the past few days. Apparently Sister Peterson has never seen ANY of this stuff happen to anyone, yet when I get here, all this crazy stuff happens. Like, the first moments I step off the bus, we meet a Mormon dude from Provo. (You never met Americans here) and so that was fun. And then this crazy drunk lady comes up to us and starts yelling at us to get out of her country (uncomfortable for everyone, also never happens). Then, on Saturday we had this crazy meeting with a guy named Dragon (yeah actually almost everyone is named Dragon) and I dont even know what happened there... there was lots of Croation, and he talked about how he was leaving the church, and then how he was kidding, and then that he was serious, and then that he was kidding, and then that he was serious, and so on and so forth...and he fed us this meal, and I couldnt even tell you the last time they had washed the plates and cups. That was freaky. And then there was some 80s Serbian music videos involved... (yeah we just have no idea) Also, don't ever let Grandma Chauncey come here. It smells like cigarettes and B.O. all the time. She would hate it. Anyway, so even though there is crazy weird stuff, there is also crazy awesome stuff!! Ive met some amazing people. Our branch here is super small, but its so close knit. Everyone loves each other like family. Theres a little boy here named Roberto, and he doesn't speak a lick of English, and I can hardly speak Croation, so he teases me a lot. He speaks really quickly in Croation so I can't understand him. But I have decided its fine to just be a sass back to him, and so I speak very quickly back in English. Somehow, I love him. He is so funny and so fun. He makes friends with everyone. He and his brother are the only members in his family. I think he is only 10. That is so inspiring to me. I met his Mom the other day. Everyone here is so kind. And they all do that European, kisses-on-both-sides-of-your-face thing. That was kind of awkward, but hey its cool. We also had dinner at an American woman's apartment last night! AH! Its this lady named Mary (not her real name) from New York, and I could finally talk to someone. We had such a good time. She was a chef for a while, so she is an amazing cook. She fed us this WONDERFUL dinner, and we had the first discussion with her. We told her it was for practice, because Im super bad (which is true, but we also wanted to have the first discussion with her) and she actually gave helpful feedback, AND we had a good discussion. She is totally great and so much fun. And I told her about the dirty plates at Dragons house, and she just laughed and laughed because she could totally relate. She made me feel normal. It was super cool yesterday. We were walking home from Mary's house (And there was this crazy thunderstorm outside, Dad, you would have loved it), and we were going to go tracting for a bit before we headed in for the night. And we were just going to tract inside our apartment building, because it was raining. We walked by an apartment building on the way, and Sister Peterson just stopped and said ... "You know what, there is this young woman that came to English class once.. and I really think we should find her" "Okay cool, do you know where she lives?" "No, but we need to find her" So we RANDOMLY walk into this apartment buildling and Sestra Peterson said, "Okay we just need to go for it." And we start knocking on doors. We knock on 3 doors, and no one answers. Then there was this door with obviously lot of people behind it. I was about to say "Hey lets not bother them..." but I decided to not say anything. Good thing, too, because there, opening the door, is the daughter of the woman we were looking for. WE FOUND THEM. JUST LIKE THAT. The whole family! And we had this incredible discussion about the nature of God (okay they had the discussion, and I laughed when I understood the jokes) and then they made me and Sister Peterson sing for them. They were very impressed. We got along super well, and they invited us over again tonight, and gave us their numbers. This is going to be good. I can tell. We have to go to Slovenia today... We cant be there for long, dangit ..../ But it will be an adventure. Okay. Thats about all for now. Pictures on the way!!! Mary, the chef from the USA, just walked into the internet cafe. Yesssss.
