NOTES:
Sestra Chauncey was in Zagreb, on July 20 and 21st, to bring her companion, Sister Brotherson to the mission headquarters to go home to the USA. She got a new companion, Sister Peel, who will finish her mission in two months, in Osijek.
Here is a brief description of her latest news, that we got in an email
J. Chauncey
PS. They found this bike in a field. Although they don't ride bikes there, she thought it looked like a missionary bike.
President Grant came to Osijek on Saturday and we had personal interviews with him, and we had an activity for the branch afterwards. It was so amazing. He had this video of all 24 of his grandchildren singing I am a Child of God in Croation, and they sang it SO wonderfully. And one of the members stood up and told them they sounded actually Croation, and they totally did!! And Sister Grant got up and bore her testimony IN CROATION. It was perfect. The love they have for this people was so clear. They have loved them since the moment they received this call. And all of the members could see that too, which was so good for them. Oh man. They are here to work hard and to love these people. That is such a blessing.
We also finished the quilt for Anna! (Anna is the only Young Woman in the church program in their town) That was way fun. It is so fun to work with a young woman here. And she is such a good missionary too. She invites her friends to things all the time. Her friend Ana had a birthday party the night President Grant was supposed to come, and she and her friend reschuled her birthday party so they could both come. How awesome are they?
I got multiple emails about the flooding in Rexburg. THAT IS CRAZY. Oh man. I really cant believe it. I loved the picture of the guy in the kayak. Hey... If i had a kayak, I would do the same thing.
Im doing really well. I really like this whole mission thing. So even though I might be a little trunky, cuz my companion is going home, I also actually never want to leave. "Real life" has finally become this weird dream world, and I feel like Ive done this my whole life. I love it . Its only going to get better from here. :)
Love you.
